Wonders Will Never Cease

January 7th, 2008

My list of top 5 places to visit has been a pretty popular part of this site. So I have decided to produce further lists.

To kick these off I have started with the most popular of travel related lists, those of the seven wonders of the world, both the original ancient list, and the new list that was voted for last year.

The ancient list I have simply put together the standard blurb, as apart from the Egyptian Pyramid, I can only go on what history states.

The new list of wonders I have added my own view on the list and ordered it according to my personal opinion.

Both lists can be accessed either using the links below, or those on the left hand side menu.

Celebrations From Estonia

January 4th, 2008

I’ve actually had time this week to write up some more of what Kristi and I got up to in Estonia over Christmas and New Year. Apologies for the lack of pictures to go with these last few updates. The photos I took just weren’t fit for publish. Personally I blame the drink.

First up we have my first hand experience with the Estonian love of saunas in: These Estonians Are Crazy.

The second installment covers our New Years celebration and the interesting firework displays we bore witness to at: Bringing In The New Year - Estonian Style.

Christmas Greetings

December 30th, 2007

A belated Merry Christmas to you all. This year I’ve been spending Christmas in Estonia with Kristi’s family and friends. It’s been an interesting time discovering many differences of cultures, which has lead me to write a new Travel Guide: Estonian Christmas Traditions.

I’ve also added an entry in the Personal Log: An Estonian Christmas, which although kinda covers the same topic, does so more from my account, hope you enjoy them.

Long Awaited Update

December 14th, 2007

It’s been a while, and I seem to be saying that a lot on here. This time the reason behind the lack of update is due to the creation of a new site. I’ve been working on our wedding site, and although not fully complete, it is now ready for its unveiling. You can view it at: www.steveandkristi.co.uk.

In addition to this, I’ve uploaded the latest part in the Cycling Cuba personal log. Unfortunately Cycling Cuba - Night Nine does not have any pictures to go with it, but I’m sure you’ll agree after reading it, I was in no position to be snapping pics. Anyway, enjoy.

More From Greece

November 25th, 2007

I’ve uploaded day six of our Greece holiday, which was on the island of Milos.

Personal log can be found here
Gallery of photos can be found here

Keep an eye out for the next island in our trip, Ios.

I’ve also managed to sort out another set of photos from my backpacking trip round Europe way back in 2002. Click Here to view photos from my day in Venice.

Engagement Details And Photos

November 18th, 2007

I’ve written up the details of what happened on the day I proposed to Kristi. They can be found here.

I’ve also added a cool bit of flash on the photos page for you to play with. Check it out.

Engagement

November 11th, 2007

I realise this has nothing to do with travel, but hey, it’s my site. Kristi and I are now engaged. I popped the question yesterday to which she said yes. I’ll post some details of the day, where we travelled up to Carlisle on the famous Northern Belle train.
